Attention Area Residents : The Planning & Zoning Staff is looking for your Input on zoning and land use in Lookout Mountain. The more people they hear from, the better!!!!
The goal is to gather our input. The Planing Staff's then provide a combination of their and our recommendations to the Planning Commission. The Planning Staff are our allies building a plan that will help preserve our community character and protect our safety, environment and wildlife.
Here is what you do:
Step #1: Please take some time and fill out the questionnaire (pick image to the left) and the SURVEY (click on the work and it will take you there in a separate window). Your responses are sent directly to Russ Clark, the Planner in charge of Revising our Central Mountain Community Plan
Step #2: Read upcoming emails pertaining to future meetings with Russ Clark and Staff regarding important issues that will need to be addressed in the newly revised Community Plan: Water, Historic Preservation, wildfire/wildfire mitigation, urban/wilderness interface, Towers, ( these were issues that last evening's participants addressed as important to the area). There will be more as you bring them up!
Step#3: Review the revisions to the Community Plan as it is drafted. The revisions will be placed on the county website: http://planning.jeffco.us, Community Plan Updates
Step #4: Study the newly revised zoning map, (it will be finalized after all other details and sections of the new Plan are put into place, and send comments to Russ Clark)
Step #5: Attend the final approval meeting held by the Planning Commission, who will add or delete our final draft. This is positioned for sometime in November. This will be very important to prevent "outsider" from usurping our plan and giving their outsider wording to the commission.
****Both parts of Step #1 are very important. Please send in your comments and let the Planning and Zoning Staff know your feelings and needs. They want to hear from as many residents as possible.
