LMRU Files Complaint
to Appeal Commissioners'
Decision

On Monday April 9th Lookout Mountain Residents United on behalf of several Homeowner's Associations and many individual complainants filed an appeal in Jefferson County District Court appealing the Board of County Commissioners decision to approve AMI's expansion.

One month left to the Fundraiser at the Crystal Rose!!
 
We still have a lot to do....more than half of the tickets still need to be sold and we need some more auction items...live and silent.  Already, we have a week in Winter Park, a weekend in Vail, numerous Limited Edition and original art, Limited Edition Stained Glass, Key Largo, Florida "Dolphin Art"....what else can we offer?!!?

We also have wonderful Silent Auction items...Hummel Figurine, Native  American art, great art prints and more... If everyone could sell 4 tickets...that includes your own tickets, we will have met a large part of our goal. Just talk to your neighbors...you will be surprised how easy these tickets are to sell....

As many of you already know, we have received responses to the appeal from AMI and Jefferson County. As expected, they do not agree with us....no surprise there...and you can take a look at them by using the links above this letter.

The appeal is a long process but one many agreed to fight...we have raised the funds for the Certified copies of the hearings and have paid the attorney up-to-date. We have done well....BUT...we must now raise the funds to go All THE WAY!
 
Those of us who signed as Petitioners can take a deep breath because our commitment to pay for the Certified Copy of the records has been met.

Now we must continue to raise funds to pay for the most important part of this appeal.....!

We are NOT opposed to the current facility; however, we ARE opposed to the huge expansion and effective change of zoning that could alter the ambiance and history of our mountain community forever.  We recaptured  the "Save the Loop" name because we want to preserve the Lookout Mountain Road section of the Lariat Loop Scenic By-Way in a manner that is in keeping with its history filled heritage.

JeffCo Board of County Commissioners (BCC)approved the AMI expansion on Lookout Mountain, Senator Mark Udall kicked off his "Protecting our Outdoor Heritage"
